PART ONE FOR MY 2-WEEK HOLIDAY IN TAIWAN, R.O.C



I lovelovelove to leave Singapore every now and then. It's not because I adhor my life here, I just need a break of doing what I always do here and most importantly the other side of me which is often hidden here needs to be set free from time to time.



I have never been to many countries but I can tell you Taoyuan International Airport is the worst in the world!!! It is even smeller and dirtier than the old Bangkok International Airport. To those who dont know this, Taoyuan International Airport is the main airport for Taiwan, it is better known as Chiang Kai Shek Airport to most.



The MRT there is great! The abbreviation is the same as Singapore's but I cant remember the actual name. I only know the M stands for METRO. Almost every day in Taiwan was bad hair day for me. Reason being I slept with my hair wet every night. :(



Sorry all but I really cant remember the english name of the restaurant I had my first lunch at. I only know the chinese name because my sister kept going on about it in Singapore. It's call Dan Dan Wu (loosely translated to Egg Egg House). The food was nice and the dining atmosphere was pleasant. BUT BUT BUT I have to agree with the locals that the prices are rather steep. I guess it's okay for us, Singaporeans, since it was about SGD25 per person.

If you're planning on going to Taipei, you havehavehave to visit this place. It is so much lovelovelove. Remember its name XI MEN HONG LOU! As mentioned to many, it is similar to our Red Dot but ten times more interesting. I spent my time there looking at all the handicraft and art works. Oh not forgetting small chit chats with all the artists! Unlike local artists who cant endure hunger and poverty, these Taiwanese artists are willing to sacrifice big paycheck and job security for their passion. There was this female artist who is so much fun and joy to talk to. She has the same concept as me for designs. HAHAHA. I even told her the reasons why I feel elephants are always in children story books and cartoons drawn by artists who are jaded with adulthood since she used a lot of elephants in her designs. I bought my new ipod pouch from her. Unfortunately, when she tried to guess my nationality, she got it all wrong. First guess was Hong Kong-er then Korean and lastly Japanese. :(
Is Singapore really that small and insignificant?

The traffic there is crazy. WORSE than Bangkok. The cab drivers just make a u-turn as they wish. Unbelievable! If I didnt remember wrongly, there were 4 young tigers in Asia then when Japan was the biggest. They are Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. I simply dont understand how did Taiwan lag so much in terms of country development.


Wasnt that great to me but it's a must-try since we dont have this in Singapore.



Bubble tea sucked!!! I hated it. In fact, Hong Kong's taste the best in comparison to Singapore's and Taipei's. The giant takepachi is amazing to look at but I dont really fancy the taste. How do I put it? It is just a lot of junk put inside to make it look huge but the filling dont really go well with each other. Yeah! Like I said before, I dont think I'd like Taiwanese food very much. Dont get the wrong idea about the cuisine there because of whatever I said. The way the food is cooked there just aint to my liking. HAHAHA! I dont even like the Shilin here in Singapore, let alone the supposedly original and tasty food there. My sister loves the food there though! Oh, we tried more food item in Shilin Night Market but I got tired of taking out my camera every now and then so sorry guys, you can go google them if you like.



Line up for Day 2 was plain love! I named it the G2 Day in Taipei! It was filled with every thing I wanted to do. I forced my sister up to Yang Ming Shan which is a gorgeous place. On our way up, we saw many HOUSES (note: not apartments or flats) and SCHOOLS! Miniature Museum is my playland! You guys should already know by now how much I love miniatures! HAHAHA. Lastly, there's the main reason why I traveled to Taiwan. TVXQ CONCERT!!! After the concert, I decided to stop calling them DBSK since even the members call themselves TVXQ.

Picture #1 to #4 were taken when we're on Yang Ming Shan. It was just one portion of the whole landscape. We couldnt cover the entire place because it's HUGE and it was bloody cold that day. Erm... 13 degrees. HAHAHA. Loved the weather that day. :) :) :)
Actually, it's not we that couldnt cover the entire place, it was just my sister. We were "hiking", walking for about 2 hours and she got tired. That old lady. What a hassle to bring her out!

Picture #1 to #3 are snapshots of what I saw in the Miniature Museum. Of course, there were more to share but I am lazy to share all. I can show you guys when I bring my laptop out. :)
I had a blast there! I dont mind going there again and again and again! OH! And there were stamps all around for me to "chomp"/stamp on a passport I bought (NTD20 only) and my own personal notebook specially for this trip. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)



The concert was about 2.5 hours long, so I am going to briefly share my experience. Wait a minute, I dont think any one reading this would be interested except for one. Just read the text in the pictures then.



Kim Junsu is the best korean singer I know! :) :) :)



Micky has the nicest collar bones I've seen in a while.



Changmin has an old-man face but he's really genuine!



This couple is probably the most popular in Taiwan and possibly in the world too, but this couple is the pair I hate the most. And the member I hate (note: the word is hate not dislike) the most is UKNOW also known as leader-sshi to fans.

I'm sorry alien chua but he really pissed me off even more after the concert. You already know the reasons but these people reading dont, so allow me to complain once more.

To those who still dont know, please hear me out! From the previous entry, you guys should know that I was really looking forward to hearing my favfavfav song by them LIVE! I even said I dont care if they screwed up the concert as long as my favfavfav song was performed well but leader-shhi (guy on the right) made so mistakes. At least one whenever he opened his fucking mouth to sing his parts to the song!!!

And Jaejoong, the lead vocal of TVXQ was just astonishing out of tune throughout the entire concert. I seriously hope he was having a sore throat or a bad day with korean lyrics since they flew it straight after the completion of their Japan Arena Tour. He made at least one mistake in every song they sang live. Very very disappointing, considering I was having a tough time deciding which member, Micky or him, I like better after Junsu. But I thought about it again, he sounds fine whenever they sing live in Japan (only a few variety shows in Japan allows lipsyncing), so maybe he really wasnt feeling well.

I shall narrate the series of unfortunate events that happened when they were performing my favfavfav song live. Micky started the song with no problem then came Jaejoong who forgot this lines and went a little off tune. So Jaejoong made the first mistake and I was fuming mad already. After Jaejoong, Uknow came in at the wrong timing and cause Junsu to be confused since he had to do backup for Uknow. Leader-sshi only realised his mistake after peeking over to Junsu's side. He then paused and waited for the correct cue. Fine! Two mistakes in a row. Dear Uknow couldnt stop at one mistake, he had to double it by going out of tune! GREAT! Three mistakes now. This when I am extra calculative. Sorry if I sound like one of those aunties in the fish market. So after Uknow, Junsu sang his part perfectly well! Good job! Then Changmin sang the first chorus with no problems. :) YAY! So I thought that should bring an end to mistakes-making but NO! After the chorus, it was still Changmin's part which he sang with little effort. That's half a mistake. Uknow came in after Changmin and I just wanna cry! As a fangirl, I know that singing is not his forte and I accept that but but but he should stop saying that every one in the group can sing and that's the best selling point about TVXQ cause he cant sing for crying out loud! Think I should stop here, I cant go on. I simply cant. I HATE UKNOW!

P.S. A korean boy I met in my Taipei hostel told me to never speak ill of any TVXQ member. The fans there as in Korea will curse you and some crazier ones will go to extend of cursing you with a voodoo doll. That's the real reason why I stopped cursing and complaining about Uknow! I still want to live on!

P.S.S I realised that Jaejoong gets tired really easily. HAHAHA. He needs to work out. Seriously! His weak stamina makes me funny when I see him dance and sing.

P.S.S.S It is certified that the Dong Bang boys' arms are bigger than mine. Somehow theirs always look smaller than mine on DVD! HAHAHAH.




I posted this at a community some time back. HAHAHA! After the concert, I am certain that I am a YooSu fan! Never mind Micky is not the best singer out of the 5 or even the second best. He can sing live better than the other 3. But Jaejoong sounds okay in Japan and other events. Sigh. I dont know man.




We should get a Film House or something. Actually we do right? It's called the Sinema.



If only we could spend more time there. Too bad there was this mega event with a hell lot of press.

Another great place to go, the Story House (?) or is it the Storyboard House. I cant remember and I'm too lazy to find the ticket. HAHAHA! There was this cute little boy around 9,10 years old working there as an intern. At first, I thought he was lost then I saw his staff lanyard. He's really shy when I spoke to him. Even cuter. HAHAH!



We went to Shilin Night Market again since we're only one station away and it is a cheap place to settle dinner.


And that's for now. Part 2 should be up soon. The content should include pictures from Hualien to Taitung. Actually I visited many other places in Taipei but they're not photo worthy. I have a mouth and an annoying voice so if you dont mind, I can share verbally.
