title: 동방신기 ♥♥♥♥ 1집 To commerate my first fangirl anniversary, I'm gonna write 7 l♥ve posts for my favourite Korean boys. So this week is fangirl week! For the entire week, there will be one post on Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) every day.
The reason behind these posts is because.... Let's wait for the last post before I reveal it. :) For starters, I'm gonna share about Dongbang as a group. Pardon me if all the posts are long and draggy. I get really chatty when I feel young. *Heehee* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This group of boys is the only people I know who has so many versions of their group name. The original name is Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起). In Korea, they go by Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기; Dong Bang Shin Gi). In China and Taiwan, it's Dong Fang Shen Qi (東方神起). In Thailand, TVXQ! is widely used. In Hong Kong, since cantonese is the main language, they are called Dong Fang San K (東方神起). *my romanisation for cantonese is really poor, but I tried! In Singapore and Malaysia, we simplify things and go by DBSK. In Japan, Tōhōshinki (とうほうしんき; THSK) is used. Whatever the case, the name means Rising gods of the East (동방의 신이 일어나다). Before this was chosen, they had other options such as Oh Jang Yook Bu (오장육부, meaning the five visceras), Jun Muhk Go, acronym for 전설을 먹고 사는 고래 meaning A Whale That Eats Legends, and Dong Bang Bul Pae (동방불패), the Korean title of Ashes of Time. . [INSANE!!! What kinda names were those? You guys would never have made it with that last name especially.] They were trained under one of the biggest and richest entertainment agencies in South Korea, SM Entertainment and their careers are managed by Lee Soo Man, the man behind popular or should I say once popular people like Shinhwa and Kangta. Time to introduce the 5 voices.   Factor to Success? To me, it's their wonderful teamwork! You will get to see more of their teamwork in the next post. Dongbang can only sound this good because of their harmony. It's always amazing how they sound like ONE when singing together. Personally, it's rare for a group to sound like ONE, let alone work hard like ONE. Dongbangshinki, all for one, one for all! I hate to say this but the 5 cant survive without each other. At the same time, without their loving Korean fans, the rest of world that's us would've never heard of them. Then again Korean fans are really crazy but pretty cute (I guess) to pair the members up and give each pairing a name. It's really new to me then and actuallyI do like some of the pairings.  YOOSU = DORKS This my favourite pair. They are the only 2 born in 1986 after the Lunar New Year in Korea so that makes them friends instead of brothers (hyung-dongsaeng). When the 2 are together, you can expect nothing but laughter, genuine laughter. Since they only have each other as friends in the group, they rely on one another a lot. What I love best about this pair is how one party is always bullying the other. And the way they bicker but always end up laughing out loud.  JAESU = THE VOICES The musical couple to me. Although all of them can sing and are better than average, these 2 are extremely good at doing their thing. Like what Junsu (the Su again!) said in one of the interviews, Jaejoong has a clear voice which is able to blend every member's voice as one and hence a beautiful and soulful sound is created. The duets by these 2 are even better. I just love how the love surrounding them is all about music. Other than that, I always feel that there is a lot of awkardness between these two. Nonetheless, Jaejoong is still constantly keeping a lookout for him despite the numerous times he made fun of Junsu. Oh wait! One common traits they both share is their ability to talk a lot of rubbish but still sound funny. Jaejoong is like fire and Junsu is like water so.... yeah... they're really different from each other.
The oldest and the youngest pair but they are the 2 who are constantly fighting, physically and mentally that is. Jaejoong is a witty person by nature whereas Changmin is book smart, so whenever they battle it out with their hands and legs, I just cant help but roll around laughing like a crazy person. I never noticed this pair until I watched their Couple Talk which was filled with laughter from the start to end. Jaejoong, please stop trying to defend yourself, we all know the gangster spirit is still in you, just fight with Changmin for all you like. Changmin is too civilised. Brought up in Seoul makes him a little less humane to me, somehow.  SOUL MATE = BUDDIES The best friend pair, since they are the only 2 smokers in the group. Actually, I think they became best friends because of Jaejoong's character and Micky's loneliness or perhaps because they are room mates. Jaejoong treats all his friends like gems which is what Micky needs since all his friends are in America. Not that the rest of the members dont love Micky or care for him, Jaejoong just cares for him more. They are really comfortable with each other, so much so that sometimes Micky treats him like a friend instead of a hyung.  MINSU = INNOCENCE Junsu-sshi, I really pity you sometimes. Thankfully you're older than Changmin, if not I think you will be covered in bruises all the time. The 2 youngest ones are such a mismatch pair. HAHAHAHA. Their interactions are really out of the norm too. Changmin simply doesnt obey Junsu but he does respect him a way or another. Poor Junsu, he can only rely on the fact that he is a hyung and try to survive by using that against Changmin whenever he's attacked. Changmin is always abusing Junsu verbally but no harm is done to Junsu. He's just too nice. Still, Junsu will cherish every opportunity he gets to poke fun at him. Changmin-ah, you must get over the fact that Junsu is cuter than you. Yes, you're the maknae and supposingly the cutest but sometimes your actual age just isnt reflected by your actions and face, so just face it. Actually, the love between the 2 is really the simplest. One that doesnt require much talks. Like how Changmin always says that Junsu is his teacher and Junsu simply acknowledges it. They are really close because of music, gaming, food and what not.  HOSU = FAMILY The father and son pair. Uknow is an appa to Junsu only. The bond between these 2 is more family-like. Competitiveness trait runs in the family which is pretty annoying to watch sometimes. The father hates losing and so does the son. How stubborn!! Nonetheless, Uknow really really treats Junsu like a kin. Junsu is definitely his favourite dongsaeng in DBSK. This is one of the few times I actually appreciate the presence of uknow.  YUNJAE = FANSERVICE I hate Yunjae. Over-rated. Die! Yunjae! Die!  2U = BASS I still dont know why Micky and Uknow are named 2U. 2U is the sane couple, the presentable couple. They are usually in charge of conversing with the media or the higher rank people. HAHAHA! These 2 have became very active these days, especially when it comes to home videos.  KISS = TOUCHY Personally, these 2 are the most perveted out of the five, and they are Micky and Changmin. HAHAHA. Changmin with his weird stares and Micky with his obsession with sexy neckline. The pair name really suits them well. Other than that, I think Micky is the only one besides Uknow that doesnt suffer under Changmin's queer behaviour.  HOMIN = TALL PEOPLE I know nuts about them. Oh, I do know a thing or two. They stand beside each other and are the tallest. *edit. I just found out something about them. Changmin is very very scared of Uknow. He's the only hyung Changmin dare not offend. Is it because only Uknow has the energy and strengthen to fight against you? - -- --- ---- ----- ------ ------- -------- Tomorrow, let's immerse ourselves in the world of Korean and Japanese music with vocals performances by DONGBANGSHINKI. |
