I heard you cried last night.

hates to see dust.

pick up a book, moron!
title: not having electrical amplification The Wreckers - The Good Kind as seen on One Tree Hill I dont watch/follow the show but I love this song to bits. It's one of those songs with really high playcount on my stolen ipod. Craig David - Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry) live in Tokyo R&B singers always sound good live. Younha's cover of SNSD's Gee on Music Travel Lalala Very interesting cover. Once again, Younha has proven her singing abilities. Anyband - Promise U The success of Anyband is the end product of the ingenious idea of putting good singers/musicians all into one group. BoA - Listen to My Heart live First time I'm hearing BoA singing solo and I think she aint that bad. Oasis - Live Forever on MTV Most Wanted 94 It's obvious that the spirit of this song will live on even after Oasis is gone. TVXQ's cover of SMAP's Lion Heart on 僕らの音樂 SMAP's version was comparatively of poor singing and harmonising then again thank you SMAP for showcasing such a song to the world. This song is really beautiful. Oasis: Noel Gallagher - Help (A Beatles' cover) Definitely, one of the best live performances from Noel Gallagher. Very soulful. News Night interview Pete Doherty -Music When the Lights Go Out I cant emphasize enough how talented this boy is. Yes, he's a druggie and very wasted but that's soul of freedom. Pete Doherty - What Katie Did He deserves another slot. :D The Killers on Live at Abbey Road - Romeo And Juliet (a Dire Straits cover) When I first heard their rendition, I was very touched. Yes, I really became a The Killers fan after this. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours He sings well but his looks bugs me. Geez! 周杰伦 Jay Chou - 爱我别走 (A 張震嶽 original) This concert made me a fan of his. Yups. I was truly impressive with this concert, furthermore, his songs are all pretty decent. Labels: anyband, dbsk, music, oasis, the killers, younha |

title: 동방신기 ♥♥♥♥ 3집 Junsu became THE favourite member because of his involvment in Anyband. Whenever I think of how disgusting he looks with his nipples exposure and ah beng haircut right now, I will just have to watch an Anyband performance or listen to TPL [Talk Play Love] to remind myself why I really became a fangirl. Dongbang is an idol group in the eyes of the Koreans and the Koreans Media unfortunately. Their singing abilities are often overshadowed by their somewhat good looks. However, when Anyband debut as a one-time band, Junsu for once could abandon his boyband/idol image and sing like a real singer. Most importantly, the press reaction towards Anyband was not only positive but reviews garned were all about the music and the inspiration they got from their music and performances. *edited: I just found out that Junsu is the leader of Anyband. Aish! I'm an elated fangirl. Even as a fan, I have to admit that their songs dont really showcase their singing abilities, which is pretty upsetting. Anyhow, once in a blue moon, you hear song like Timeless, and you will definitely be convinced that Junsu-sshi is a true blue singer. As much as I dont like the chinese sounding arrangements, I love how he goes over the top with this voice. Listen to the acoustic version. Singing is the one thing he does best but this little boy wants to rap too. Occasionally, you will hear him rapping behind the scenes while the rappers of the groups are shooting their rap scenes. Junsu-sshi, how to rap with your high pitch voice? HAHAHAHA. He composed and wrote lyrics for a dance track which I personally have mixed feelings about. Yeah, I dont like dance, so most likely I wont like the song even after hearing it. His performance is just too "sexy" for me, I reckon. The outfit and dance simply dont match. I secretly think that this one is for the gays, like real gays. I wiki-eed him and one of his hobbies is to write poetry. Hmmmm... I dont believe that but I think this boy loves to write. Keep writing, yeah? One day, one fine day, you can be the lyricist of all Dongbang songs. Hwaiting!
When I first heard about his difficulty as a trainee, I was a little overwhelmed with emotions. His positivity is really one thing I respect most. Not only does Changmin wants to learn from him, I do too. Due to his innocence, he is always the butt of all jokes. His members enjoy bullying him every time and any time. Not only his members but others, like Super Junior members. Heehee. His reaction? HAHAHA. He just takes it in his stride. Never the less, the members really love him. Oh wait, even kids belittle this BIG brother. Orange Junsu? Classic! Seems like this little boy has few friends in the industry, his most famous one has to be Super Junior, Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk (real name: Hyukjae) and Junsu have been friends since school days. I love the simplefriendship they have got. It is simply based on trust and never ending understanding. Obviously, with one in Japan(Junsu, that is) and the other in Korea most of the time, meet-ups are nearly impossible but yet these 2 are still so darn close whenever they come together to play and fool around like kindergarten kids. It's all about the foundation of their friendship. No matter how much they proclaim on nation tv or radio that they detest each other, every one knows well enough that these 2 morons are closer to each other than any other friends they have. Them teasing each other endlessly is just too sweet for words. From them, I really learnt a lot. I really hate to admit it but Junsu is someone I've so much to learn from, even how he treats his friends. HAHAHA! *editedBecause for him second to music is sports, particularly soccer, I just cannot help but to make him my favourite member. He thinks about football all the time. HAHAHA. Well, I guess he's really good at sports. All brawns! I think his competitive traits play a huge part in his sports interest.
Well, once in a long long time, Junsu looks good too. And when he does, I feel happy. Wear spectacles okay? I dont care if you had lasik or some crap. Just wear specs. No more long hair! No more funny jeans! Labels: anyband, dbsk, friend, junsu, love post, super junior |

title: 동방신기 ♥♥♥♥ 2집 *waves* Annyeong! *bows* To kick start DBSK Special on perhaps-J properly, I'm gonna share my l.♥.v.e for their music with you guys. :) This will come in handy one day when you are sick of listening to English songs on your ipod. Trust me. I am so sick of understanding every thing I listen to so now it's mostly Korean songs for me. I've compiled a list of my favourites accompanied by some comments from me. For your information, all clips are at least of medium quality, mostly are HQ, of course! HAHHAAAHA. Something random, while doing this I ended up watching so many new videos. Why the heck are there so many Dongbang stuff to watch? It's like there's something new-old every day. ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Hug [video] [performance'08] [performance'07] [performance'06*Jap] [performance'05] [performance'04] [performance'03] "No matter who I see, or where I am,I only look at you" HUG! HUG! HUG! Dongbang's debut track! There is so much to share and I dont even know when to begin. I have a love-hate relationship with this song, I really do. I hate the stalkish lyrics in some parts of the song, yet I'm madly in love with the Yoosu duet. This is such a happy song that I cant bear to hate it anymore. After hearing it live in the Taiwan concert, I fell in love with it again. The boys are just so energetic whenever they perform this song. It's their oldest song yet they never fail to sing this like the first time. (Liam Gallagher, stop complaining about having to sing Wonderwall at almost every gig!) It's gonna be their 5th year this December and I'm looking forward to a new version of HUG! As the boys grow up, this song evolves as well. As you scroll down, you will realise that this is the ONLY song which has no link to the english translated lyrics. If you need to know the words to this song badly, go google yourself. If you happen to like this song a lot more than I do, then I'm glad to share with you the other versions of the song. This track can be found in Japanese, Chinese and English. For myself, only the Korean version works for me. On to the performance, for now this song has the most links! Since it's THE Dongbang track, I thought I should go youtube for its yearly performances. Through the years, you can see how the cheesy but sweet pop track has evolved into something pleasing to every one's ears. There are other versions of the live performances which I like better but youtube's selection has its limitations. I sincerely apologised for not being able to find a decent 2005 performance and had to resort to a Junsu fancam, which I swear was the only thing I could find. Heard the song? Watched the performance(s)? HAHHAA. Now, I shall share my thoughts on the song. This song manages to showcase each member's vocal talent yet no one is overshadowed by the other. That's the one important factor for me when it comes to picking my favourites from Dongbang. Even if one member (*points at uknow) sounds awful, it doesnt matter as long as the singing parts are fairly divided. However, I have to point out that Jaejoong and Junsu parts are the most striking, to me at least. 1. Whatever They Say *Korean [lyrics][performance-acappella][performance] "I wanted to let you go just for your benefit But the love and trust you've shown me gives me courage" 작사 (Lyrics by): Young-hu Kim, Daniel Roman 작곡 (Composed by): Young-hu Kim, Willliam Pyon 편곡 (Arrangements): Young-hu Kim This song... this song... is a mystery to me. I cant explain why I like this song since it's an acapella song. I dont like acapellas! There is this charm surrounding this song that makes me love it. The beauty of the song lies in the wonderful harmony of the 5 voices and the simplicity of the melody. Frankly, I dont listen to this often but when I do, it will be on repeat mode for half the day. This beauty is written, composed and arranged by the only Korean musician I know, who is my favourite as well, Young-hu Kim-sshi. The acappella performance is a short one which they did during their 2007 Japan Live Tour, Five in the Black. I always think it's beautiful to hear them perform Korean tracks in Japan. The other performance is dated back in 2005 when Micky had his chicken hair. Watch this at your own peril as it really isnt very visually appealing. 1. 너희들 것이니까 (I Wish...) *Korean [lyrics][performance] "Stars flow as if they're in a lake" This pop track is from the 2005 Summer Single : Hi Ya Ya. I just found out about this track about 3 weeks ago. I dont even know why I like this song. Perhaps it's because it's an easy sing-along track. Or maybe it's because Junsu sounds really good in the chorus. Then again, it could be anything. I must add on that it is pretty "refreshing" to hear Uknow singing the chorus alone. He usually does the backup vocals for chorus. I figured this could be an experimental song for Uknow to sing the chorus all by himself. And as a fan, the outcome is pretty obvious. HAHHAA. That was his first and last. :) I cant explain to you how excited I was when I found a HQ performance of the song. I didnt know that Dongbang had performed this song publicly. I'm a happy fan despite seeing them in funny pieces of cloth sewed together to form that pink suit. 2. Tonight *Korean [lyrics] [video] [performance] "Like the love sprinkled on the earth.. like tonight.." ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ They call this genre R&B, I call this R&B without oversinging. I've never heard this song until I ****loaded the Rising Sun album, which I now own an original copy of. Track 1 is usually the one that has the most attention, but this song can be track 10 and still become a favourite. The vocals displayed by the boys will sweep you off your feet, they ALL sound amazing. Every time I listen to this one, I just get blown away by their amazing vocals. Junsu's voice stands out the most because of how he personalised his parts with so much emotions. The words to the song is pretty normal or at least it is after translation, that's the only one pity. I love how Micky started the song with a narration and Junsu comes in with beautifully. TEAMWORK!!!! Micky's voice is just so suited for such narrations. Although, he's a singer-rapper, I think he should consider being a DJ when Dongbang's workload lessen. 3. Rising Sun (순수) [lyrics] [video] [performance] "My innocence has bloomed in the garden of suffering" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ *screams* EPIC! Once again, *screams* EPIC!!! No other people on the face of the earth can carry this tune and dance like DongBang. NO ONE! It is A DongBang track. Before DongBang came about, I never knew any groups which can really sing and dance. Actually, I dont even care if people can dance, as long as they sing well, I will like them. DongBang really proved me wrong with this stunning!stunning!stunning! track. I've never heard this genre of music, they call in SMP in korea which simply means SM Music Production. Totally brand new to me since in the first place I dont listen to dance. This track is a mixture of dance and hiphop. Micky's rap is so powerful. OHOHOH! How can I forget Changmin's amazing screams? As we go through all the songs, you will realise that Changmin has all the screaming parts. They dont usually perform this live in Korea but I managed to find one clip after some time and this is my first time watching it. *interesting* I think the reason why they dont perform this song live often is because it is exhausting to dance and sing to this song which is filled with many over the top high notes and the different tempo at almost every interval makes it impossible to breathe. Or it could be because Jaejoong was injuried then. 4. 바보 (Unforgettable) [lyrics] [performance] "See you once again, my love" This only became a favourite after I heard it live at the Taiwan concert. In contrast to the title, this song can be easily forgotten and categorised under "just another one of those tracks in the album not worth mentioning". The special power and charm of live performances is supposed to make you love songs you dont and love the songs you love even more. Dongbang did it!!!! After May 10, Pabo has became one of the tracks I *** to. I would be lying if I said that the vocal performance of each members was well done. Honestly, this song doesnt suit Dongbang much but still it is painfully beautiful to listen to. 5. One [lyrics] [video] [performance] "How did you find me, among all these people?" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ This song made me cry the first time I heard it. I think granny introduced this song to me when I first listened to DongBang but at that point of time, I wasnt so much of a fan yet. HAHAA. Work and the mundane working lifestyle made me a bigger fan. Even when I decided to go for Taiwan concert, I was only a fan of a few songs. My sister was the one who urged me to go and thanks to her I didnt regret. Hearing Junsu-sshi sing this song live was... was.... was.... as though time has stopped temporarily and the only moving object was his voice. Back to the song, I first heard it when I bought the "O" dvd to familarise myself with the songs I was going to get to enjoy in Taiwan. It could be because this song was performed in the same outfit as my favourite DongBang track so I paid extra attention to it. I dont know? The introduction before the song could be the cause too. I dont know! All I know is that you dont listen to this song with your brain, you use your heart because there're no singing technics used, they just sang with the tune and their hearts. The outcome? Even Uknow sounds like an angel. Okay, maybe angel-angel but normal. 6. Love Is... *Korean [treasure] [lyrics] [performance-kor] [performance-shanghai] [performance-bkk] "Those short words easily stop my heart from beating" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Get it? They call this LOVE. I call it LOVE too. Not a single potential track. Not an outstanding track. Not a breath-taking track. Not a must-hear track. Not a vavavoom track. Not a singing technics display track. Every time I listen to this track, I will tell myself in my heart that I will die to hear this live. (AHAHAHA. That's only because I've heard 세상에 단 하나뿐인 마음 (You're my miracle) live already.) Like I said it is a not-everything track so confirm DongBang will NEVER perform it live or even bother to lipsync it. Then the arrival of a SMTown Summer Concert changed every thing. I didnt fangirl for weeks before the concert and after the concert, but when I did I was crying out of joy that DongBang performed the song I wanted to hear live most. They really sang Love is.... live! TWICE! And the third one is coming soon on Nov 29 in Bangkok. The only reason why I wanna go for SM Town Concert is because I want to hear Love is... live and a perfect live performance of You're My Miracle. (Remember how yunjae screwed up my song in Taiwan?) 7. SHOW ME YOUR LOVE with Super Junior *Korean [lyrics] [video] [performance] "These beautiful snow flowers Remind me of cotton candy from my childhood" Dongbang and Suju are good friends because most of them spent an excessive amount of time together as trainees. This song commemorates their friendship and their sunbae-maknae relationship. It's a cute song so it's pretty hard to hate. 1. Insa *Korean [lyrics] [video] [performance] "Fly away Fly away LOVE" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Thank you, Micky, for deciding to play the song on piano while your other 4 friends belt out the song. If not, this "hidden" track will forever be unknown to me. You can choose to not listen to the other songs, but please please listen to this. Originally done by JaeSuMin only but uknow was given a part of Junsu's in the performance. Jaejoong recorded a solo too. Which version do I like better? I refused to hear Jaejoong's solo, so it's the JaeSuMin one for me. Oh, this is part of a soundtrack. I watched the music video for the very first time while preparing this and I think I want/need to watch the movie. Going to pester my mother later. HAHAHA. *edit I watched the movie. Aish! I can totally understand why the title is "Insa" which means Greeting/Greet. After watching this tear-duct provoking movie, my favourite line from the song is "In the afterlife I will greet my love again", this line pretty much explains the movie. 2. My Destiny *Japanese [lyrics] [video] [performance] "I can still picture your shaking eyelids" Dongbang should sing more of such songs because it does getting boring to see them dancing all the time. They can sing and dance at the same time and they do both well but they are SINGERS! Singers should just stand and sing! Look charismatic while singing your heart out. Chances for them to sing live in Korea back in 2006 were sparse so they cherished every moments they had to showcase their singing abilities in Japan. And I think they did win over some non-Korean Japanese fans! If you realise most of Dongbang japanese tracks are ballads if not mid-tempo. 3. One (Japanese Version) [lyrics] [performance] "The words I couldn't say back then overflow now..." ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Heard the korean version? You should've since I was going on and on about it. Same composition, same arrangement, different lyrics, different feelings input. This one sounds slightly more gentle as compared to the Korean one. Like I said, it's the language. Korean somehow just sounds a little fiercer. I love both version equally though. This kinda song should be performed live often because it captivates people's heart, mind and soul. You will definitely space out a little when you listen attentively. 4. Rising Sun (Japanese Version) [lyrics] [video] [performance] [performancewithuknow] "Outside my window I can hear the storm and noise Everybody is waiting for the light Until silence arrives I am alone... I don’t have wings to fly over typhoons..." I love this performance! HAHAHA. After watching this, I figured that Uknow is really redundant. There are some parts of the song which sound better in Korea but I think Junsu's first part is even better in Japanese. 5. Eternal *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] "Even if it seems like I'm losing sight of you sometimes When I close my eyes, I see a photo of you" This is a JaeSuMin track, meaning you dont get to hear Micky or Uknow at all. Somehow, I think the feel of the song is right with just the 3 members. I swear I'm not being biased or anything. I just found out about this track recently. It is a not track I listen to often but every time I do, I find myself repeating it a few times. It's nice just to hear normal tone voices once in a while. You know la, I'm not so much of a bass fan. 6. Heart, Mind and Soul *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] [performance-collaboration] "Each time you blink, I will make a wish come true" Uknow seldom starts a song unless it's rap, so this is a "nice" start. The lyrics is very very similar to ON&ON (scroll down) but I like ON&ON better because of the harmonising. The problem with this song is that Uknow should've never started it. Every time, I hear this voice, I just wanna skip the track but this one is truly soothing and beautiful. What the heck was the producer thinking? 7. 明日は来るから [lyrics] [performance] [performance2] "Far away... (In a corner of the universe) Far away... (I think about you) I want to call it a miracle, this feeling, And I want you alone to know" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Five in the Black concert was my first Dongbang concert and I managed to watch a HQ version thanks to my sister's fangirls-friends. Before I start on the song, if you guys have spare time, you can kill time by watching the concert, it is one of the best concerts ever. Every time I look at the lyrics, I just get so emotional but towards the end of the song, I suddenly feel hopeful and brave. If I didnt get the wrong message, that's what the song is conveying. As much as I love the other members (minus uknow), Junsu owns this song. He totally won me over with this track. It's amazing how he sings the way he does, how effortless it looks and yet the power that comes out from him is intensed. 8. 그리고.. (Holding Back the Tears) [lyrics] [video] [performance] "I'm holding back the tears I walk trying to lessen the weight of my heart To a place that is neither close nor far Where a different me stands I will not cry" 작사 (Lyrics by) & 작곡 (Composed by): Micky Yoochun Micky composed this when he was feeling homesick. HHAHAH. I made that up but whenever I hear the song, I want to run home. RUN. I really mean RUN! The song evokes a lot of unneccesry emotions so I cant hardly complete the entire song. I usually stop after the second chorus. Anyhow, Micky really composed the song and it is a touching piece of music accompanied with moving to tears lyrics. I'm glad that Junsu got to sing the chorus because he did a splendid job. This boy really sings with all his might and feelings. This was the main theme for Vacation, a 4 episodes short drama, which was their first attempt at acting. 9. Red Sun with SMTown *Korean [lyrics] [video] "The more I come to know you, The newer you become everyday" A happy song! Duh! It's SM's contribution to the music industry in 2006 during Summer. Every one who got a part in this song can sing pretty well. As much as I love to hate LSM, I have to give it to him for bringing up all these talented people. Literally bringing them up. These kiddos have been trainees in SM for years, some since 11, others around 15. Even the not-so-talented ones, he managed to provide training and they are all alright as long as they dont sing. (Note:Kim Heechul, stop singing. You're a star just by being yourself. Havent you heard of the term, Personality Star? Think Nicole Richie.) I love this kinda big family song! Every artiste belonging to the same company will spare a day or 2 to come together as one and record the song and shoot the music video like a HUGE and real family. We dont really get to see such collaborations in the Western Music Industry. What a pity! Do you guys remember the SARS song more than 100 Chinese Pop artistes sang together? Hand in Hand, I think. I dont even care if Jolin or F4 was given a line when other more talented people werent. It's the spirit of unity that I love. 10. "O"-正.反.合. ("O"-Jung.Ban.Hap.) *Korean [lyrics] [video] [performance] "Even if the dream is small, if everyone looks in the same direction" *sings* "O" "O" "O" "O" My sister hates this song because of me. Extremely catchy tune with very strong lyrics about the society. Micky's rap is so much love! This song is not one that helps to promote the boys' vocal prowess but to display Uknow and Micky's unique rapping skills. This was one of the first few songs I heard from them, and at that moment I thought Micky was a better singer than Jaejoong because of his rap, especially in the Japanese version. 11a. 세상에 단 하나뿐인 마음 (You're my miracle) [lyrics] [video] [bestperformance] [performance2] "Life that I thought would be everlasting Disappears with the wind in an instant" "For you, I'll search again for my dream which I lost a long time " ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ *sings* Cause you're my miracle 너만 있으면 온 세상은 하얀색 꿈으로 변하지 그거 아니 널 너무 사랑하는 마음 보여주지 못해 늘 미안할 뿐이야 It's gonna take more than words to proclaim my eternal love for this song. 11b. You’re my miracle (Japanese Version) [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "My love, now there's only one person in the world in my heart You're the only one, always" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Now we just need 2 more versions of my FAVFAVFAV. Dongbang's managers listen up, we need this lovely track in ENGLISH and CHINESE now. Just make sure Junsu dont get too difficult words for the English one. HAHAHHA. 12. 네 곁에 숨쉴 수 있다면 (White Lie) [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "Dont cry, please dont cry. I cant even wash them away for you" 작사 (Lyrics by) & 작곡 (Composed by): Kim Junsu Junsu's composition. His first publicly released composition. One of the first few tracks I heard after becoming a fangirl. Days after I've decided to convert to a fangirl, my sister showed me a concert named Anyband Concert, which was the only time Dongbang performed this song live. At that point, Junsu wasnt even my favourite member yet. I totally had no idea he was the composer. As much as I love this song, I think that Micky and Jaejoong sound odd. Uknow on the other hand, never sounded better. Junsu has this amazing capability to create songs to showcase Uknow's limited and do-able singing abilities. 13. ON&ON *Korean [treasure] [lyrics] "I think it's like the conversation between souls" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ One of those tracks no one bothers much about when they listen to the album but somehow this one really stands out in my opinion. Definitely, the most beautiful track from their third album. The humming right at the beginning of the song by Junsu just melts your heart or at least makes you less angsty over nothing much. When Micky came in with his English lines, the song starts to hit the climax. Slowly, you can visualise the motion of the story on your mind. Very sweet! For myself, when this song is being played, I somehow feel as though I am watching an Old Hollywood film with this tyrant female lead who runs away from home to an European City where she will meet this pauper male lead. Eventually, these 2 odd balls will fall head over heels in love with each other. 14. 이제 막 시작된 이야기 (The Story Has Just Begun) *Korean [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "Listen to my song (listen to my song) So that I can dream of you (so that i can dream of you)" I seriously thought I will never ever heard them sing this live, though only Changmin and Jaejoong sang that little bit of the song, I'm still pleased. I like songs like this alot. I dont know why. I guess it's because it is not easy to sing and that only true blue singers can bring out the story behind the song. Definitely, not one of those trashy karaoke tracks. 1. ZION *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] "I'm gonna guide tomorrow Only you, that love Called heart, paradise Baby listen to my heart before you go, destiny" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ What genre is this sia? Heck it! I love this track! This song always makes me extra HIGH after the first spin. Changmin owns this song. Give me more of such, Dongbang! Changmin's parts are the best parts of the entire songs. I was surprised to hear Junsu starting the song since that portion is pretty low. 2. Proud *Japanese [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "We met by chance along this road Even now I can’t forget, ever since that day Much of the sorrow and anxiety I held Everything had been changed Through the warmth of your memories Proud of your love" Because Micky followed by Junsu and Jaejoong and finally Changmin cried while singing this in their Five in the Black concert, I have to love this song. The lyrics of the song kinda depicts the formation of DongBang and their hardwork in Japan. For most of Junsu's trainee years, he was put into a project group with Eunhyuk and Sungmin, while Jaejoong and Uknow were in a very lame group called Four Seasons with Kangin and Heechul. As for Micky and Changmin, there were plans for them to debut as solo artistes. So without a doubt, the boys thought they would debut that way. One fine day, LSM called the 5 boys in and told them that they would be forming a group of 5 which is set to debut one year later. How queer and sudden. These 5 people knew the existence of each other but they didnt really know each other that way and the sudden decision not only impacted them but the other 4 people who they were team mates with for at least 2 years. Pretty tough to become real friends with one another when the situation has turned against your real friends for the past 2 years. I dont give a damn even if Uknow sound horrid in this, this one song marks their friendship which is just wonderful even from an outsider's point of view. Like I said, this one carries all the blood and sweat from the very first day Tohoshinki was born. They were the upcoming King of Korean Pop when they debuted but the direct opposition when they first stepped into Japan. The only people who knew them were the Koreans living in Japan. What a huge contrast for them. The burden of learning Japanese from scratch made them even more unwilling to work but they knew they had to prove themselves to the audienes there. It was clear in their minds that giving up was the silliest option. So they pushed themselves, supported one another and practised Japanese hard until...until...they were good enough to perform in Budokan Stadium. 3. Day Moon ~ハルダル~ [lyrics] [performance] [treasure*Korean] "Even if the moon changes color and everything vanishes like smoke in the wind" Usually a Japanese version of Dongbang's Korean song isnt as good . Somehow, it just sounds funny. But in this case, I think the Japanese version is way nicer. :) I hate Jaejoong's voice in this, it's too nasally for me. However, I think that Uknow sounds good in this and so does every one else. Oh! I forgot to mention that this is from the Air City Soundtrack. Please do not ask me if it is suitable for the drama. I love my korean music and variety shows but it's a NONONONO for me when it comes to korean dramas. Korean movies are alright but the dramas are....just count me out on that. 4. All In Vain *Korean [treasure] [lyrics] "Color of the wind and the color of the air When I think of you I understand your impossible dream" Micky owns this song! He sounds close to perfection. For once, the other 4 rap instead of just Uknow and Micky. Wonderful! Dongbang, please sing more of such. Soundtrack song like these is always very interesting to me. 5. Love in the Ice *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] [performance2] "Everyone is searching for a place That can heal their sadness and loneliness" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ *sings*HUH-AH HUH-AH The coldness surrounding this song freezes me all the time. But all that freezing is in a good way. I've always thought the title describes this song perfectly well. I cant think of any other better words or strings of words. If I need to prove to you the singing abilties of my favourite korean boys then please listen to this song! They, all of them including uknow, sang their hearts out in this song. Every one was at their best form. PERFECTION. The best example of how other boybands/ idol groups (points straight at sohee from Wonder Girls) should learn how to sing like them. Between 3:36-4:06, the way Junsu sings....just drives me mad. The heart-wrenching feeling sometimes makes it hard for me to breath. I've always imagined how the music video should be done in order to portray the depth of the song. Do I want a music video for this song? No, I dont. Some of Dongbang music videos have the power to totally destroy the beauty of the songs. So, NO! 6. Song for you *Japanese [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "Let's strum the wishes of tomorrow YOUR SMILE from my heart" Because it was the track before You're My Miracle on the 3rd Live Tour 'T", I noticed this sweet yet forgettable track. Because after that I found out that it was first released in the Summer Dream single which Love in the Ice could be found, I want to get the single. Because the parts are well-divided, it has to become a favourite. Jaejoong is once again too nasally in this song but Micky sounds so darn sweet. Hard to decide if this one is really really a favourite or that I just like the title. 7. 五線紙 (Gosenshi) *Japanese [treasure] [lyrics] "The colors of the flowers sway to the wind Giving to us its melody While watching the trail of vapor from an airplane We walk this path like a music sheet With our singing voices flowing" I need an explanation from Avex (their japan label) as to why this track isnt included in the "T" album, their third album. The lyrics are talking about Dongbang and their love for each other. It's the cutest and sweetest track ever. Happy songs like this should be given more attention! If only it isnt the B-side of Lovin' You single, I will seriously consider parting with my money. For once, Micky got the lead vocals!!! I'm so delighted as a Yoosu-fangirl. The sweet low-pitched voice deserves more attention!!! 8. SHINE *Japanese [lyrics] [video] [performance] "A precious person with no replacement" Once you heard this song, you will love it. And after you watch the music video, you will fall in love with it even more. Dancing on a metal circular container with water splashing is just awesomeness. An average song like this always needs a little helping hand from a perfect music video to elevate its likability. 9. 사랑 하나죠 (Only Love) with SMTown [lyrics] [video] "Only our love can bring a bright smile to those dark faces That is the power of our small love" SM TOWN, which includes all the artistes in SM Entertainment, got together to sing a moving song for their neighbour, the famous hermit crab of Asia, North Korea. I love get-togethers! If you watched the previous SM TOWN music videos, you would release that there wasnt so many many many many people. Due to the downturn in the Korean music industry, record labels are now forming groups with an excessive number of members in order to make more money. How do they make more money? Well, in each group, there will be a couple of real singers, so they are the lead singers. The rest of the members are probably useless people, mediocre singers or great entertainers who light up in variety shows because of their personalities. Okay, I am telling a long grandmother story to get to my point. With the addition of SNSD aka Girls' Generation, the singing parts have to be shared now. WTF! I dont pity Dongbang but I really feel sorry for Super Junior. They have 13(!!!!) members, as tough as it is to fight for the limelight with 12 others, they now have to with over 20 label mates. 10. Evergreen *Korean [lyrics] "I wonder if you are listening to it, somewhere" 작사 (Lyrics by): Shim Changmin 작곡 (Composed by): Park Yoochun Changmin and Micky worked hand in hand in this one and the outcome is just breathtaking. This is one of Dongbang's best. Changmin-ah, all the books you've been reading have been great help to you and your literary works huh? Please continue reading. Please do. Although Love in the Ice the korean version, which was penned by you, aint as touching and tears provoking as the japanese version, it is still better than many other Dongbang lyrics. Micky is the composer in Dongbang because he cant live a day without spending time with his piano/keyboard. You see his hands on the black and white keys pretty often in music videos. 11. Rainy Night (JUNSU) *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] "You're always being a crybaby And even that part of you is so sweet" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Composed by: Kim Junsu This boy, Kim Junsu, is such a wonder. After I watched the Anyband concert, I already became a silent fan of his but after this insanely emotional and expressive track, damn it, I became an open fan. I dont even know what the heck he is singing about but I stupidly cried in my heart while listening to the song. Kim Junsu is such an ass. He is becoming the male version of Stefanie Sun for me. Jay Chou came close to clinching the title but he just doesnt sing as well. 12. Forever Love *Japanese [lyrics] [video] [performance] "Shining right before our eyes, The glittering sunsetInside my chest, a profound love Like nothing I have ever felt before" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ With Junsu-sshi openning the song with his soulful voice, your attention should've been captivated. This is the kinda song nobody can hate until you watch the music video. Avex, are you kidding me? Come on man, pretending to walk in the desert in a studio! How I visualise the music video to be when I listen to the song is so so so far apart from actual the music video. Choosing sunset as the time is absolutely correct and the location, a desert, is spot on but why the walk? Why do they have to walk and pretend to be crossing some sorta hurdle? Aish! The song gives off the feeling of receiving warmth in a cold place so shouldnt there be some sort of stoning or Wong Kar Wai's style involved? Every still image captured from this music video should be pretty and spectacular but no! The lame walking scenes spoilt it all. Moving on.... 13. TPL (Talk, Play, Love) *Korean [lyrics] [video] [performance] "but music-she saved my life so I'm loving her through the day and night" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Talk about music! Talk about music! Talk about music! We have to talk about Anyband. It is one of the best things that has happened in the Korean music Industry. With Tablo (epik high) as the Rapper, Boa as the female lead singer, Junsu as the male lead singer and Jin Bora as the pianist, a memorable one-time band was formed. Go watch the entire concert! There's so much LOVE surrounding music! ![]() 1. TRICK *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] "Access like a stolen kiss We deep deep deep install" This song deserves a loud "WOW!". 5 solo tracks mixed and re-arranged to formed this one really catchy tune. Two Hearts - Changmin Runaway - Yoochun If...!? - Junsu Close to you - Yunho Keyword - Jaejoong 2. Rainbow *Japanese [lyrics] [performance] "Your voice is my rainbow I'd cross the sky just to reach it" The "T" concert made me like this song. If you listen to the album version carefully, you can hear someone singing backup for Jaejoong in the chorus. I always do but I have never been able to figure out whose voice that belongs to until I saw the performance. Ta-da! It belongs to Junsu-sshi. What a pleasant surprise. Heehee! So after the performance, I liked the song much more. Like I said it's tough for me to really like a track by Dongbang which only has Jaejoong as main vocals. I lovelovelove Micky and Junsu's parts in Beautiful You but because Jaejoong is basically singing the entire song by himself, there really isnt a point in liking the song. You may say that Junsu totally stole the show at the end when his voice was just one with the music but what about the rest? 3a. 千年恋歌 Sennen Koi Uta (Japanese) [lyrics] [performance] "One thousand years of feelings, living on in a song So that someday, when I'm reborn, I'll be able to meet you" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm such a pig. I simply refused to listen to this song when I saw the title. Doesnt the title sound cliche? To make it worse, this was sung for the soundtrack of some Bae Yong Jun drama which was shown on Channel U months back. What a foolish mistake!!! This is one of the MOST beautiful Dongbang tracks ever. The words are flawless! They matched the composition so well, it's like a matchmade in heaven. I'm pleased that Dongbang did a fantastic job with the articulation. The allure of this song actually makes me want to watch the drama but the sight of Bae Yong Jun bugs me. This was released as the B-side on the single, Beautiful You. It should have be labelled as Beautiful You --> 千年恋歌 or Beautiful You= 千年恋歌 instead of Beautiful You/千年恋歌. 3b. 千年恋歌 천년연가 [lyrics] [video] "If I collected tears of a thousand years Would it be enough to show my heart" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ No other words other than intoxicating to describe the Korean version. It is just as splendid as the Japanese version. Both versions make you wanna listen to them over and over again. There's no end to the replay. I am pretty sure by now, you guys must've realised my fondness for soundtracks. The best of Dongbang are usually from soundtracks. 4.どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう? [lyrics] [videowithdbsk] [performance] "I just pray that you will be happy forever No matter how lonely that makes me (or how sad)" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ How to comment on this song when every time I listen to it, I end up stoning or singing along with all the wrong lyrics? どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう? is simply too addictive. Very clever use of words here! Even if you dont know the song after your first, you will sing along to the first line of the chorus. *sings*Douuuuuushite [fast from here --->] kimi wo suki ni natte shimattan darou? This one is for the guys. Dongbang for once is singing about how a man feels when his love gets married. The entire song depicts his hidden screams and angers while watching the entire wedding ceremony taking place. I have to applaud every one for being able to give a good account of the emotions. Also, because of the simplicity of the song, no technics was used and I strongly agree with that decision. No technics, just sing. Let's go through each one's performance, shall we? Jaejoong is just brilliant in this. No more nasally voice. His crystal clear voice fabulously expressed the helplessness felt by the protagonist. Micky's low voice does even better with the emoting. Somehow after listening to the song so many times (it has the highest play count right now), whenever Micky does his lines, I can hear him singing "Let it be... Let it be...Let it be... Let it be" with a dead heart. His expression in the music video makes the entire storyline come alive. Is this your real life account, Micky? I hate Junsu-sshi sometimes, I really do. Why is he so capable of singing? Why is he so able of a picturesque description of the song lyrics? His soul is entwined with singing, isnt it? The way he ends the song marks another epic from Dongbang. Uknow, as little line as he gets, he makes good use of them and does an impressive job. He can sing la, okay? I'm admitting it. When he sings with his original voice minus all the technics, he sings good and better than average. *edit I totally forgot about Changmin! Shit! I feel guilty. The thing with Changmin is that he is a great singer but he doesnt surpass JaeSu or have awful moments like Uknow. Yeah, he's usually forgotten in songs unless he does his impressive and attention captivating screams. 5. 주문 (MIROTIC) [treasure] [lyrics] [video] [dancevideo] [performance] "What is love? What! It's now meant by the Red Ocean" Their title track for their comeback after 2 years! A dance track with an extreme cool dance routine. Whoever who choreograph the steps deserves a HUGE hug from every one who loves the song. Just recently, some kind fans uploaded the video of the entire dance without all the drama-mama action of trying to get the "witch" in the music video. Not a fan of the lyrics but I lovelovelove how Junsu sings his lines in the song. HAHAHA. His english is just too adorable. Initially, I had mixed feelings about the way he croons "I got chuuuuu under my skin" but now I'm just doing it myself whenever I hear the song. For once, Jaejoong has the least lines. He only has 3 (THREE) lines in the entire song! He disappears from the song after those few lines which opened the song. He did make a return with his power screams while every one was singing the chorus but Jaejoong sang like an ant, he's so soft that his screams were barely audible. Not that I'm complaining but it just strikes me as an irregular Dongbang korean song. It's only in Japan that the parts are given mostly to Jaejoong but in Korea, every thing is very fair. Give this guy, one more line! Changmin is ever so impressive with his high pitch screams. Just how does he do it? He did it in Rising Sun,"O"-正.反.合., Purple Line and now Jumun. Micky's parts doesnt need more elaboration because he got the boring parts AGAIN! Do watch the music video for him, just for him. He looks the best in the music video and his scenes are the only scenes I approve of. The 2 older ones were busy exposing their nipples, while Junsu's lame escape from the "witch" is the dumbest thing ever and lastly Changmin's expression when he was floating is priceless. 6. 노을..바라보다 (Picture of You) [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "Like those invisible flower-like smiles,Which shine just like the stars,I'll keep you safe beautifully" I've a festish for songs with the images of sunsets or yellowish-orange settings. I really do, especially for asian songs. The westerns are not too big on their sun or anything to do with sun, they prefer to sing about the moon and stars. I think the lyrics are lovely because it is not very direct with the meaning but there are hints all over the song. By the way, Junsu-sshi wrote the lyrics. Like I always say, you never know what to expect from this fellow. Honestly, the most outstanding part of the song went to Junsu, and I think it's fair since he wasnt give many lines. Remember what I said earlier on about Uknow singing really well whenever it's a Junsu's composition? It's the same here. Uknow used a new technique, called the fake voice, for his first part which was annoying but he redeemed himself when he used his normal voice just before the climax of the song which was done bewitchingly by Junsu. Dongbang performed this once only and that's during the 4th album showcase. I dont know if it has been telecasted before but I cant find a decent video so just watch the fancam for now. 7. CRAZY LOVE *Korean [treasure] [lyrics] [nodfrommicky] [performance] "I know, it's my crazy love for you" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 작사 (Lyrics by): Young-hu Kim 작곡 (Composed by): Young-hu Kim 편곡 (Arrangements): Young-hu Kim The best guy on earth when it comes to making Dongbang music. I just love this ajussi. Crazy Love is my favourite track outta the 12 tracks on the latest album. Incredibly catchy and lots of english in it makes it sing-able for me. AHAHA. Every one did well for the song. I have a favourite part of the song from each member which is really really rare! Let's start with uknow for once. When he went "One more time" towards the end of the song, I just wanna scream at him for doing it. The timing was perfect because I havent gotten enough of the song, so yeah one more time please. I bet it was an impromptu from him. Good job, leader-sshi. Now Changmin, the luckiest boy, was the main for this wonderful track. Honestly, only Changmin can pull off this track. He did such an astounding good job that I just feel so happy with him. Junsu-sshi sang "L-O-V-E" as backup for Changmin was pure love. Seriously! His input throughout the song was so much love too. He just sings a little here and there but I can still hear him. That's Junsu for you. He makes his every appearance noticable and memorable. We term this a type of human as born to sing-perform. Jaejoong! Jaejoong! Just like Junsu, you were all over the song, adding a little here and there and every where but what's most pleasing was how you ended the song. "arayo, it's my crazy love for you", this line is your mark on the song. Micky Yoochun has a low but sweet to infinity voice which is such a darling when it comes to sweet song or songs with very sweet lines like "Baby my heart beats for U". Unlike Junsu, he did his gently and lovingly. Junsu was a little agressive there. HAHAHA. 8. 넌 나의 노래 (You're My Melody) [treasure] [lyrics] [performance] "You are my song The soundtrack in my life" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 작사 (Lyrics by): Young-hu Kim Apparently, this song is a continuation of ON&ON (scroll up). I dont really see the link unless they are referring to the style of writing, then yes. Kim-ajussi has found a fan in me. He's like the only Korean musicial I know by name and he is great love. *edit I played this one after On&On and I found a link. Remember how I described On&On to be an Old Hollywood Romance Movie? You're My Melody is the soundtrack for that movie! I'm such a silly fool. I took so long to realise it. I see the link now!!! Do you? I was intrigued by this title when the tracklist came out, somehow the title has an impact on me so the first song I listened to was this when I got my copy. And I wasnt at all disappointed. If I have to choose the most outstanding member for this song then Junsu wins hands down. He sang his heart out when he delivered "Nunul gamumyon dullyoonun soridul Gudaeui maumul ijen bulloyo". - -- --- ---- ----- ------ ------- -------- Whatever surprises you guys are planning for 2009, I am sure I will like at least one out of the many. Just keep the clothes on. I'm dead serious about it. Labels: anyband, dbsk, koreanmusic, love post, music |
